Dear Friends:
As the new year is upon us it’s time to start thinking about filling the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with cookies again.
The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte opened its doors to families of sick children on May 9, 2011. At no charge to families, the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides these families with a place to stay, eat, and rest while their children undergo critical, if not life-saving medical treatment.
Each year the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte needs 200 to 300 cookies a day as part of its mission to help families dealing with a child’s illness. And these cookies need to be freshly baked so the “sweet smell of home” wafts through the 35,000 square foot house.
Last year with the help of your donations, Cookies For A Cause was able to provide the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with 25,200 cookies! With your continued support this year, we feel confident we can achieve our new goal of supplying the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with 40,000 cookies.
$15 allows us to provide the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with 1 tub of Otis Spunkmeyer cookies – or 36 ready to bake individual cookies. That means, we’ve set a goal of selling over 1100 tubs of cookies this year! While that is a tremendous goal, we witnessed the outpouring of support last year from our community and have faith that we will see the same again.
The mission of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is to provide the families of children being treated in area medical facilities with a safe, affordable and caring “home away from home.” We at Cookies For A Cause want to believe that families will take a bite of a cookie and be reminded, even if just for a minute, that there is sweetness and hope in their future.
Your support is much needed and sincerely appreciated. Please give as generously as you can.
