As the new year is upon us we’ve started thinking about filling the Barium Springs Children’s Home and Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen with cookies, just like we did the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte last year.
Founded in 1891, Barium Springs, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, provided services to 2,969 children, families and individuals in 2011. Barium Springs provides an array of services for children, families and individuals throughout North Carolina. Their three main objectives are to: •"Heal the Hurt" for children who are troubled, abused or neglected, •Provide "A Safe Home" through residential homes and foster care, and •Encourage "A Healthy Start" through educational and prevention programs.
Founded in 2007, Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen, is on a mission to help fight hunger in Huntersville and adjacent towns of Cornelius and Davidson as well as in the North Mecklenburg County unincorporated areas.
We’d like to do our part in helping these children and families by donating cookies that can be freshly baked so the “sweet smell of home” wafts through both he Barium Springs Home and Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen. Last year with the help of your donations, Cookies For A Cause was able to provide the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with 25,200 cookies! With your continued support this year, we feel confident we can achieve our new goal of collectively supplying the Barium Springs Children’s Home and Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen with 40,000 cookies.
$15 allows us to provide 1 tub of Otis Spunkmeyer cookies – or 36 ready to bake individual cookies. That means, we’ve set a goal of selling over 1100 tubs of cookies this year! While that is a tremendous goal, we witnessed the outpouring of support last year from our community and have faith that we will see the same again.
Barium Springs Home for Children is committed to a safe and nurturing family life for every child. Their mission is to serve North Carolina's children and families now; making a difference for the future.
Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen is committed to feeding the hungry.
